My one is my sister’s husband — my brother-in-law.
He works in the football industry. His life moves at a fast pace — games, travel, meetings, constant conversations. The world of sports is exciting and influential, but it can also be consuming. There is always another season, another opportunity, another demand on his time.
From the outside, it can seem like football fills everything.
But when I look at him, I do not just see a man in the sports world. I see someone deeply loved by God.
He knows that I am a follower of Christ. From time to time, I have had small opportunities to share a Bible story, a meaningful Christian article, a short tract, or a Scripture that encouraged me. Nothing dramatic — just gentle moments. A quiet sentence. A thoughtful story. A small seed.
Sometimes I wonder if those moments make any difference.
The sports industry can easily capture a person’s heart. Success, pressure, reputation, performance — these are powerful influences. It can feel like there is little room for spiritual reflection.
But I remind myself: no heart is too busy for God.
Many Christians are involved in football — players, coaches, staff members, even chaplains. So my prayer has become simple and specific:
“Lord, please send Your people into his life.”
If I cannot always be near him, God can.
If I do not have the right words, God does.
If his world feels consuming, God is greater.
So I continue with one prayer.
I pray that in the middle of the noise, he would sense God’s gentle nudge.
I pray that someone in his world would speak truth at the right time.
I pray that success would never satisfy him more than Christ.
I pray that one day, beyond the game, he would personally choose to follow Jesus.
I may not see the results right away. But I trust that God is already arranging conversations, relationships, and moments I cannot see.
My role is simple:
Love him.
Stay faithful.
Keep praying.
Because no industry is stronger than God’s Spirit,
and no heart is beyond His reach.
