In one week, we will begin the THREE ONES Workshop across our entire church, The Orchard Barrington. As we prepare to take this step together, we want to pause and remember that this moment did not come quickly or easily. It has been a long journey of prayer, learning, and trusting God.
When we first began, we didn’t even have a name. We simply carried a heart for outreach—without much experience, clarity, or confidence. What we did have was a deep desire to seek God’s heart for people who are far from Him.
Along the way, God shaped and guided us through many steps:
- Prayer and crying out to God, asking Him to give us His heart for people
- Understanding The Orchard’s DNA—our values, culture, and calling
- Outreach conferences, learning from others who are living missionally
- Outreach books, being shaped by biblical and practical wisdom
- Online research, exploring new ideas and tools
- Listening to our culture, seeking to understand how people think and feel today
- Personal ministry experience, years of walking with people in real life
In the middle of this preparation—without a strategic plan or clever branding—the vision of THREE ONES was given. It was not something we designed; it was something God revealed while we were faithfully preparing and listening.
Now, to see our pastor, Tom Olson, preaching about THREE ONES and our church stepping into this together is both humbling and deeply encouraging.
- One Prayer—John 17:20-26 (sermon)
- One Conversation— John 4:7-15 (sermon)
- One Story— John 9:1-17 (sermon)
We don’t know exactly where this outreach journey will lead—but we trust the One who began it. And we cannot wait to see how God will continue to work as we walk forward together, one prayer, one conversation, and one story at a time.
